Arrests Made for Disorderly Conduct; Other Offenses-Community Advisory

On Saturday, November 19th at 1:35 p.m., Takoma Park Police Officers responded to a fire at Spring Park. Upon arrival a brush fire was active near the basketball courts. The cause of the fire was a lighter used to burn dry leaves. No property was damaged and the fire was safely put out by Fire and Rescue. The ground where the fire was set suffered only scorching and no injuries were reported.

Investigation lead to the names of the juveniles involved in setting the fire by witnesses. Officers were led to the residence where all three juveniles were located and admitted their involvement in setting the fire after questioning. All three juveniles were referred to the Department of Juvenile Services for further action and released to their guardians.
